Our website is in English and we will respond to queries received in English.

We are open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday through Friday (U.K. local time). We are closed on Bank Holidays.

We offer a full customer experience and welcome customers at our Potters Bar showroom where our trained staff will be able to offer impartial product information and advice on our photographic finishing goods.

Alternatively, do call us during opening hours or email us with any queries you might have.

 

Terms and Conditions:

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
These Terms and Conditions shall apply to all contracts for the sale of goods by us to you and shall prevail over any other documentation or communication from us.
Acceptance of delivery of the goods shall be deemed conclusive evidence of your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Any variation to these Terms and Conditions (including any special terms and conditions agreed between the parties) shall be inapplicable unless agreed in writing by us.

 

Ordering
All orders for goods shall be deemed to be an offer by you to purchase goods pursuant to these Terms and Conditions and are subject to our acceptance. We may choose not to accept an order for any reason.

Where the goods ordered are not available from stock you will be notified and given the option to either wait until the goods are available from stock or cancel the order and receive a full refund.

When making an order through the website, the technical steps you need to take to complete the order process are described as you go along the order process.

 

Pricing

All our prices include VAT and our VAT number is 350490667. VAT is charged on all orders sent to the UK or the EU.

If subsequently to placing an order the details, description and price for the goods differ from the details, description and/or price shown on the website you will be entitled to cancel the order.

Payment of the Price and delivery charges must be made in full before dispatch of the Goods.

 

Rights of Seller
We reserve the right to adjust the price and specification of any item on the website at our discretion.
We reserve the right to withdraw any goods from the website at any time.
We will not be liable to anyone for withdrawing any goods from the website or for refusing to process an order.

 

Age of Consent
If we discover that the buyer is not legally entitled to order certain goods, we will be entitled to cancel the order immediately, without notice.

 

Mail order

For mail order, we offer a fast and efficient service with most orders being despatched within 24 hours.

You will receive an automated email acknowledging receipt of the request for an item and another automated email upon despatch with your tracking details. Acceptance of your order cannot occur prior to payment being confirmed.

 

Shipping:

We send small items by Royal Mail and a courier for heavier or larger items.

The courier we use for UK dispatch is DPD, which offers next working day predicted deliveries in mainland UK (excluding the Highlands).

Our web site offers a wide choice of carriage rates and services depending on your requirements.

Expedited service might not be available for your location.

For export, offshore and overseas orders we would use the most cost effective and rapid option unless you have specific requirements.

It is important to note we are unable to export liquids and that postage restrictions apply to some countries and offshore UK postcode.

If you are unable to see your country please ask us for a quote.

We do keep large stocks. However if an item is out of stock at the time of your order you will be contacted with the nearest available delivery date. If our re-stocking time is not suitable for your needs, you will be issued with a refund immediately. Some items are made to order: please contact us for a firm delivery time.

Delivery of the goods shall be made to the address specified in the order and you will make all arrangements necessary to take delivery of the goods whenever they are tendered for delivery.

 

Delivery Information

Our Opening times for a normal working week that does not include a Public Holiday is Monday to Friday orders placed between 9 and 3pm will be dispatched that day, orders placed from Monday to Thursday can be delivered for a next day service. Orders placed on a Friday can be delivered on a Saturday but this will involve an extra charge.

We offer a wide range of carriage services and a guide to delivery times are

  • Royal Mail 24 ( First Class ) UK Mainland next day or so (not garanteed)
  • Royal Mail 24 ( First Class ) UK Highlands and offshore2 to 3 day’s
  • DPD Courier UK Mainland next day or a selected time. This is a guaranteed service.
  • DPD Courier UK Highlands and offshore 2 to 3 days depending on location.
  • Royal Mail 48 ( Second Class ) UK 2 day’s (this is not garanteed and can take up to 5 Days)

For all the Royal Mail services this is not a trackable service if you would like this facility for added security this will involve a small extra charge.

On many Items on our web site we offer Post Free this service is Royal Mail 24 and for UK mainland it is normally delivered next day although not guaranteed and not trackable.

You must be available at the delivery address to sign for your parcel, if you are not available to receive your order, a card should be left for you to collect your parcel at your local Royal Mail sorting office or courier Depot. If a courier is unable to deliver to you they will leave a card with a contact telephone number and a tracking number , you can arrange a re delivery directly with them or through ourselves. If you fail to do this the parcel will be returned to us and you will charge for its return.

 

Website

We try to ensure all the technical information and description regarding product listing on the site is accurate and truthful, however, mistakes can happen. If you are not happy with a description that we have used on our web site to describe a product and feel it is inaccurate you can return goods for a full refund. We take our customer relations extremely seriously and will react speedily to any inaccuracy and welcome feedback from our customers.

 

Faulty items

If you have purchased any product from us that you feel is faulty, damaged or simply not working you can obtain a full refund or an exchange by returning the product to us, unless you knew the item was faulty, damaged, out of date when you purchased it.

Providing you contact us within 30 working days from the date of receipt and return it to us in the same condition as when you received it we will refund you in full. Please contact sales@thedarkroom.co.uk

 

Returns

If you change your mind and decide not to keep an item, you can return it to us within 30 working days from receipt by informing us in writing or by email.

We must receive the goods in the same condition than we sent them: they must be in the original packaging including their labelling.

The return is at your own risk and you are responsible for any carriage costs. We are not responsible for returned goods lost during transit. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods.

Where returned goods are found to be damaged due to your fault, the goods will be return to you without refund or credit.

We cannot accept returns of unwrapped CD’s, DVD’s or software or unwrapped/opened perishables such as light sensitive material unless they are faulty.

 

Cancelation

If you would like to cancel an order prior to it being dispatched we will make a refund to the debit, credit card or account that was used to purchase the goods.

If the goods have been dispatched the cost of carriage will be met by the purchaser prior to a refund.

Your safety when shopping with us is ensured: we only use approved platforms to process your payment details.

We do not hold any of your financial data. Your data is only used by official web sites and the same technology is used by most web sites to safeguard your credit card information.

All of the customer data we collect is similarly protected against unauthorised access.

When you place an order on our site you are effectively offering to buy the product which means that there is no binding contract unless we have cleared your payment.

We generate an email during this time but this reply simply confirms we have received your request. Acceptance of your order cannot occur prior to payment being confirmed.

 

Privacy

We take your privacy of your personal information seriously. The data we hold about your purchase is held on a secure database. This data is protected under the Data Protection Act and we never sell or share it with any other party.

Limitation of Liability
Except as may be implied by law where you are dealing as a Consumer, in the event of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by us, your remedies shall be limited to damages which shall in no circumstances exceed the price of the goods and we shall under no circumstances be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage whatsoever.

 

Force Majeure
We are not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of its obligations if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God such as floods and snow, strikes, lock outs, accidents, war, fire, breakdown of plant or machinery or shortage or unavailability of raw materials from a natural source of supply, and we shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of its obligations.

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions
We shall be entitled to change these Terms and Conditions at any time.

 

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
