Fancy giving children something different for Christmas this year?

If you have a budding photographer on your hands, a pack of Sun Paper could be ideal.

This method of traditional photography doesn’t require a lot of fiddly components, and is fun, quick and straightforward. In fact, the only things you need for Cyanotype Processing are sunlight and water and a pack of Sun Paper, which can be bought at RK Photographic.

How does Cyanotype Processing work?

The process itself is also very straightforward:  you simply take an object then place it on top of the Sola paper. After this, cover it with a clear piece of glass or plastic and leave it in the sun for a few minutes. The method couldn’t be simpler.

This one of the earliest methods of photography in the world, so great for showing people the history of photography.

Sun paper will provide plenty of fun for children during the Xmas season.

Unlike the darkroom, this process is perfect for children because it contains no nasty chemicals. Although the technique is very simple, to children it will look like magic; and give them an insight into the effects of light in photography.

At RK Photograph we have Sun Paper in a number of different colours, including violet, blue, green, pink, orange, and packs of mixed colour.
